Synopsis
Aimed at the experienced clinician this course will look to expand surgical skills and cover some of the more uncommon surgeries that practitioner’s may face. The emphasis will be use of the evidence base to drive decision making and approaches to surgery, for example, appropriate suture materials and approaches to general anaesthesia in the field. The course will involve both theory and practical elements and incorporate time for discussion and debate.
Some of the less common surgeries will also be focused on including:
- Abdominal surgery: Approaching an ex lap, RDAs, caecal torsions, rumenotomy
- Tail amputation
- Enucleation
- Complex caesareans (e.g., torsions, recumbent cow or dead calf)
