  • Understand the correlation between financial and environmental sustainability and relationship between healthy soil leading to healthy forage and healthy ruminants.
  • What are the KPIs of suckler beef and how to use.
  • Understand how beef farmers make money and how our advice impacts this.
  • Importance of winter and different ways to shorten/cheapen it.
  • Management of weaning the spring born calf and its nutrition.
  • Understand benefits of rotational grazing and multi species swards and how to manage.
  • Set about developing an integrated parasite management plan. 

About the Speaker 

Joe Henry Since graduating from Glasgow in 1998, Joe has worked in Northumberland and in New Zealand, primarily with suckler and sheep clients focusing on preventative medicine, production KPIs and grazing management with a focus on sustainability. Joe also is also a first-generation farmer with his wife Rachel, and farms 350 acres regeneratively with sheep and a beef suckler breeder finisher all out wintered.
