BCVA Congress has a key role in the lives of many of us – right across the profession, from industry to practice, we all experience inspiring moments at this annual event that leave us more confident, better informed and more connected.
For me, BCVA Congress is where I’ve forged some of my most important relationships and made invaluable connections – it is as much about the people you meet as it is the CPD. It is where we see ourselves included in a vital profession, full of extraordinary colleagues. So, it is with real pleasure that I invite and welcome you to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole this year.
This year’s programme is hugely varied, offering sessions for someone at every career stage, including a Young Vets stream and a Vet Futures programme to help support a healthy profession. We are also welcoming back sheep and goat colleagues to share their expertise. You’ll definitely find something for you when you review the programme.
Workshops will once again be free with your registration; however, I am reminded to ask you to book early to avoid disappointment – preferably when you register – because it is first-come-first-served and they always fill-up fast.
Place and People
The hotel has had an impressive refurb recently – making it a great place to spend a few days of learning in the lectures and discovering innovations in the exhibition. The location is great – not too far from the city, but directly off the motorway if you’re driving – and if you decide to take the train there is a stop almost on the doorstep.
The last few years have been tumultuous for many, and I urge you to use these days at Congress as a way to rebalance and re-energise your approach to your career. We face plenty of challenges, but there are also so many rewards – and we see that when we come together – meeting people who will inspire you and remind you that you’re a member of an impressive team.
It goes without saying that the socials are unmissable – with a Peaky Blinders themed casino fundraiser on Thursday and our glam Gala dinner on Friday. Please do come up and say hello – whether in a lecture room, the exhibition – or at the bar. See you there.
