After qualifying from Edinburgh Paul worked in mixed practice for a couple of years before completing a PhD at Glasgow. He joined Biobest as Veterinary Director in 1999 and has led Biobest from 2009 onwards, initially as an independent laboratory and more recently as part of one of the largest veterinary groups in Europe. Pauls’s particular interest has always been veterinary infectious diseases and he has contributed to the development and implementation of BVD eradication schemes in Scotland and England, and the development and refinement of CHECS programmes for bTB and Johne’s. He is involved in ongoing research and development of diagnostic tests in companion animal Mycobacterial disease as well as advising practicing vets and farmers on disease control and management in herds under their care.
